Flexible solar panels can be rolled up and stored in a bag, case or even in a pocket making them the ultimate transportable power source for these devices.
Recent innovations have seen flexible solar panels integrated with backpacks and even clothing. The thin film solar panel is flexible and capable of bending to the movement of a human body without adding any restrictions.

Researches at the New Jersey Institute of Technology have developed a solar cell than can be printed onto flexible plastic sheets using a standard inkjet printer, like the ones found in most homes. This is an exciting innovation that has the potential to provide inexpensive flexible solar panels for everyone. The technology developed by the NJIT uses carbon nanotubes, which are 50,000 times smaller than human hair but can conduct current better than standard electrical wire.
