RV and Marine Solar Kits

Solar kits have never been easier to install on your RV or sailboat.

Sunwize offer a complete solar kit that includes the solar panel, the mounting hardware, solar charge controller, the necessary cables, hardware and of course complete instructions. These kits are available in 55 , 80 and 110.

Watt packages. There are expansion kits available to increase the amount of solar energy you want to capture. These solar kits come with a 25-year warranty as standard.

The concept behind powering your RV or marine vessel with solar power is to charge your onboard battery with Direct Current (DC). It is of great importance that you have the right battery and there are many different reviews online regarding what makes the perfect battery to co-exist with your RV or Marine solar panel system.

Deep-cycle batteries are used in conjunction with solar electricity and there are three main construction types. These are flooded, gelled and AMG (Absorbed Glass Mat). AMG-style batteries cost more, but allow for more efficient and faster charging and they do not require any maintenance. The AMG battery is designed to be discharged down by as much as 80% time after time, but for a longer life-span to warrant the extra cost it is advisable to never let your battery supply deplete by more than 50%.

Solar kits collect Direct Current (DC) and you may require an inverter to transform the Direct Current to Alternating Current (AC) that is the standard electricity used to power appliances. The Xantrex XPower Inverter 5 connects to your RV or marine battery easily and can handle up to 1500 watts of AC power. There are the 300, 1000 and 1500 Watt models available depending on the size of your solar system and how much AC you need.
