Solar Showers

A solar shower is a beautifully simple idea and completely affordable. The 5 Gallon Solar Shower is made of black eco-friendly PVC materials. The reason for it being the color black is that black does not allow any light to pass through; it absorbs it, thus heating the water at a faster rate. Place the solar shower in direct sunlight when the temperature is 70 degrees and it will heat the five gallons of water from 60 to 108 degrees.

Some people who are dedicated to living “off the grid” chose to construct their own solar powered shower because of the deceptively simple design. This is not advised. Five gallons of water weights 41.8lbs and poorly constructed solar showers could break under the strain of such weight, causing harm. It is always best to purchase a professionally made solar shower that comes with a warranty and is built to last and not break when you need it most. For such a low price it seems the wise option.
