Wind Power

There is enough wind power to provide clean and sustainable electricity for all our power needs. A potential 72 terawatt (TW) of wind power is there to be harnessed, and this is more than enough to meet the 15 TW average global energy consumption.

Wind power can be collected domestically and commercially. Commercially, wind farms collect the power of the wind. These are either onshore or offshore. Onshore wind farms are land based. You have probably seen them when driving down an open road; giant looming machines with revolving blades.

Residentially, wind power is becoming more popular with people using wind power as a back-up supply, or in hybrid with solar power. DIY kits are making wind power more affordable and the natural simplicity of harnessing power from the wind is an appealing alternate energy source.
